First Time Sober Since I Was 7 Years Old

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t doing drugs, but I remember that one of the happiest moments of my life was going Quads [quad bikes] with my family. I was started on Ritalin when I was 7, and then I went downhill. When I was 12, I started marijuana, ecstasy, and the list goes on.

The drugs affected my life in each and every way, and before I came here, they took everything away from me.

I have been to other rehab programs before, but they didn’t stick with me. This program has many areas that have helped me greatly.

I really needed to better myself, and a family friend told me about the program.

I had lots of great realizations that I had forgotten about, and things started to make sense in my life.

I gained a lot of tools through the life skills program that I can use throughout my newly found sober life, which will be very helpful in my future.

I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given here and will carry what I’ve learned throughout my life.

“My relationship with my family is really good. It’s awesome—they are proud of me. I realize how much drugs can affect me and how much better my life can be without drugs.”

My relationship with my family is really good. It’s awesome—they are proud of me. I realize how much drugs can affect me and how much better my life can be without drugs.

And now that I am drug-free, I’m looking at life from a new angle.

This is the first time I have ever been sober since I was seven years old.

I want to be a productive member of society and keep bettering myself, and I would really like to say to anyone who is fighting an addiction: do your best to get sober because there is so much more to life than being high all the time.

I am thankful for the program I have been introduced to, and thank you to everyone for the help I’ve had throughout the process.
