Whitney Houston: Another Tragedy

Many of us can agree that Whitney Houston is one of the most astounding artists of all times. To have her taken away by a tragedy around narcotics is not only horribly upsetting to her family and the world, it is also tells us again how deadly pharmaceuticals are.
Having a life of beauty and purpose taken in exchange for lining the pockets of a disgusting industry is a horrible ending to her tale.
All drugs, prescriptions included are not only dangerous are very, very addicting. The cries of help she had were not audible, but instead were silent – in every drug she took, in every drink she had with her pills. “Mother’s Little Helpers” are the reason she is no longer with us – no longer able to sing, no longer able to hold her daughter close. A truly devastating tale.  The fact that it was not illegal drug use this time does not lessen the pain we all feel now that her life has been taken away.
She traded in one vice for another and this time with the help of doctors. The insidiousness of the abuse is like a drug pusher handing her the needle. The only difference is that those that gave her this vice won’t be charged for murder.

At Suncoast Rehab Center we mourn her loss.  We are also incredibly thankful for the lives we are able to save daily from prescription drug abuse.
